TSS Swimming | 2026 Australian Age Championships Wrap

TSS Swimming athletes proudly represented the school at the 2026 Swimming Australia All Age Championships, held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre from April 4–18. The event brought together thousands of swimmers from across the country for the Australian Multi Class (MC) Age Championships, Australian Open, and Australian Age Championships—one of the premier competitions on the national calendar.

These championships provide an important pathway for young swimmers, with performances contributing toward selection for international teams such as the Junior Pan Pacific Championships.

Team Performance

TSS finished 65th overall, with a number of outstanding individual performances, finals appearances, and personal bests across the week.

Leading the way was Piper Asquith, who delivered an exceptional meet:

• 🥇 Gold – 200m Freestyle

• 🥈 Silver – 400m Individual Medley (4:54.7)

• Scored 65 points for TSS

Piper’s performances across the week were a highlight, showing her ability to compete strongly across multiple events.

Julian Angus also had a superb campaign, consistently performing at a high level:

• 4th – 100m Butterfly Final

• 4th – 50m Butterfly Final (just 0.1 off the medals)

• A couple of personal bests and multiple finals appearances across the meet

• Scored 75 points for TSS

Oscar Eddy achieved a major milestone in the 50m Breaststroke:

• First time breaking 30 seconds (29.7) in the heats

• 6th in the final (29.5)

• Followed up with a strong 5th place in the 100m Breaststroke final

• Scored 41 points for TSS

  
  

Hudson Sheehan showed great improvement throughout the meet:

• PB 23.92 – 50m Freestyle

• PB 52.2 – 100m Freestyle, qualifying for finals

• Finished 6th in the B-Final with another personal best

• Scored 5 points for TSS

  
  

Jasmine Lyles competed strongly across her events:

• Finalist in the 200m Individual Medley

• 11th in the 100m Breaststroke, narrowly missing the final

• Close to breaking the 34-second barrier in the 50m Breaststroke

  
  

Other strong contributions across the team included:

• Holly Hembling and Sara McCarthy both breaking 30 seconds in the 50m Butterfly

• Sean Lee achieving a personal best in the 200m Breaststroke at his first national championships

• Matthew Kalogeropoulos competing well across sprint freestyle and butterfly events

Team Representation

TSS was represented across all levels of the All Age Championships:

• Australian MC Championships: Luke McDonogh scoring 144 points for TSS

• Australian Open Championships: Piper Asquith, Oscar Eddy, Holly Hembling, Jasmine Lyles, Luke McDonogh

• Australian Age Championships: Julian Angus, Piper Asquith, Oscar Eddy, Nathan Gibson, Holly Hembling, Matthew Kalogeropoulos, Sean Lee, Jasmine Lyles, Sara McCarthy, Hudson Sheehan

This year’s championships showcased the depth and commitment of the TSS Swimming program. With multiple finals, medal success, and a host of personal best performances, the team represented the school with pride both in and out of the pool.
