What is GPS Swimming?

GPS (Great Public Schools) Swimming is a high-level interschool competition conducted between GPS member schools based in Brisbane and Toowoomba. As a member of the GPS Association, The Southport School competes against these schools throughout the season.

GPS Swimming Team

Selection for the final GPS Representative Team is determined strictly by fastest times, reflecting the performance-based nature of the competition. Representing TSS in GPS Swimming is a significant honour, and athletes compete intensely for selection in the final team.

GPS training sessions are provided at no cost. Please note that any additional club-based training sessions may incur separate fees. Training is specifically designed to prepare athletes for the demands of GPS racing, with a strong emphasis on short sprint performance, relay changeovers, and team cohesion.

The GPS Swimming Championships will be held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre on Friday 6 March.
