Julian Angus Continues Outstanding Season with State Honours and National Selection Opportunities

Julian Angus continues to build an impressive 2025/2026 season, with a series of major achievements highlighting his development as one of Queensland’s emerging young swimmers.

At the recent Gold Coast Swimming Awards, Julian was recognised as the **3rd Overall Age Group Champion (U16)** and was also presented with the prestigious **Overall Butterfly Award**, awarded to the swimmer who accumulated the highest butterfly points across the entire 2025/2026 season.

These results follow a strong period of racing and continued progression across training and competition.

Adding to his recent success, Julian has also been selected to attend the **2026 LA Dreaming Camp** in South Australia later this year. The camp, coordinated by Swimming Queensland in partnership with Swimming South Australia, brings together a select group of developing athletes from across the country for an intensive week of training, race skills development and competition.

The camp will include:

* High-performance training sessions

* Stroke and race pacing development

* Filmed technical analysis

* Competition at the 2026 South Australian Short Course Championships

Selection into the program is considered a significant achievement and recognition of an athlete’s long-term potential within the sport.

Julian’s season is set to continue in coming weeks, with the talented butterfly specialist also preparing to compete at the upcoming Australian Swimming Trials in Sydney.
