2026 Queensland Short Course Championships

The 2026 Queensland Short Course Championships were a very positive meet for the squad, with 62 swims producing 41 PBs, meaning 68% of swims were faster than the swimmers’ entry times. This represents a strong level of performance and improvement across the team.

TSS also achieved 9 podium finishes across the meet. Luke McDonogh had an outstanding championships, collecting six medals: Gold in the 100m Butterfly Multi-Class, Silver in the 100m IM and 100m Backstroke, and Bronze in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly. Luke also recorded the biggest improvement of the meet, dropping an impressive 4.26 seconds in the 200m Freestyle Multi-Class, improving from 2:19.34 to 2:15.08.

Jasper Ward also had an excellent meet, winning Silver in both the 50m and 100m Butterfly. Oscar Eddy added a Bronze medal in the 50m Breaststroke, swimming an excellent PB of 28.80, improving by 0.22 seconds from his entry time of 29.02.

There were a number of other significant improvements, including Kimia Shayesteh, who dropped 3.55 seconds in the 200m IM, from 2:39.09 to 2:35.54.
