TSS Swimming | 2026 Gold Coast Sprint Championships | Meet Report

The TSS Swimming Club had a fantastic weekend at the 2026 Gold Coast Sprint Championships, with some outstanding individual performances and loads of personal best swims across the team.

We had some terrific high achievers. Luke McDonogh and Lulu Kirk were the standouts of the meet, each coming away with four gold medals, showing great consistency and confidence across all their races. Jasper Ward had a brilliant meet in the 10–12 age group, winning gold in the 50 m backstroke and butterfly, and racing strongly across all strokes. It was also great to see Matthew Kalogeropoulos and Julian Angus stepping up in the older age groups and bringing home medals in very competitive events.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the meet was the number of personal bests. Around three quarters of all swims were PBs, which is a great sign this early in the season. The biggest PB of the meet came from Sienna Feenstra, who dropped an incredible 5.23 seconds in her 50 m butterfly. Sofia Kalamaras also had a huge improvement, lowering her 50 m breaststroke by 3.90 seconds, while Alexander Murphy took 3.51 seconds off his 50 m butterfly.

Overall, the team raced with great energy, supported each other well, and showed that the hard work at training is paying off. A really positive way to kick off the season.
